National Curriculum Expectations for the end of Key Stage 2:

Children should be able to:

create sketch books to record their observations and use them to review and revisit ideas

improve their mastery of art and design techniques, including drawing, painting and sculpture with a range of materials [for example, pencil, charcoal, paint, clay]

talk about great artists, architects and designers in history.

 

At Gayton, by the end of Year 5, the expectation is that children will be able to:

  • code and program multiple elements and a number of parallel operations
  • apply acquired selection, sequential and repetition skills with music software in order to create a music project that showcases skills taught to date
  • self-identify problems and errors and attempt to correct them both alone and with support
  • evaluate digital content both in terms of quality and validity
