Inclusion & Equality

We pride ourselves on the reputation we have built within the city on being an inclusive school and on how inclusive our children are of others with differing needs. Equality is regularly addressed by our four-yearly assembly cycle as outlined on our document below. We also teach the children about the nine protected characteristics which are protected by the Equality Act 2010, at an age appropriate level, through our PSHE curriculum, using texts as prompts, as highlighted in our planning document.

The characteristics that are protected by the Equality Act 2010 are:
  • age.
  • disability.
  • gender reassignment.
  • marriage or civil partnership (in employment only)
  • pregnancy and maternity.
  • race.
  • religion or belief.
  • sex.
