Meals and Snacks

All children stay at school for lunch. If you wish your child to go home, please contact the office so that arrangements can be made for them to sign in and out.

We promote a healthy lifestyle whenever possible. For morning break we encourage children to bring healthy fresh fruit to school. We do not allow crisps, biscuits or chocolate at morning break.

Your child can have a school lunch or bring a packed lunch from home.

School meals cost £2.60 a day.

Eat Culture Education Catering have been our school meal provider since November 2021, with meals being cooked at a local Derby school and transported in to be served. They provide us with a great menu full of different daily choices and the children, via the School Council, are able to have input into this menu each time it is reviewed. Please click contact school for special dietary information.

The current Autumn/Winter menu works on a three-weekly cycle and can be found by clicking the links below:

Please remember that dinners must be paid for in advance and we are operating a cashless system. Please contact Mrs Wagstaff (cwagstaff@gaytonj.derby.sch.uk) in the school office if you do not currently access your School Money online account to pay dinner money and she can send log in details to you.

Packed lunches should be brought to school in a named lunch box or bag, preferably insulated or with a coolant, as we do not have cold storage facilities.

Free School Meals

We would encourage parents to check whether they are eligible, even if they think they may not be; or if they have applied before and been refused. It’s a quick and easy process to apply. If you would like to apply for Free School Meals, you can apply online by clicking here.
