Last week as part of the annual Rolls Royce Day, our Year 6 children were joined in school by ten aspiring Rolls Royce apprentices. The children took part in four challenging activities linked to STEM and building on team working values. They had great fun learning about electromagnetism, lift and thrust and air resistance.
Our Christmas celebrations ended with a big assembly to say ‘goodbye’ to Mrs Wilson who retired on Friday 18th December. The Gayton TV Studio is now in its second year. The aim of the project is to develop children’s ICT, presentation and language skills through the channel of media. As well as performing and writing, the children learn to use the camera, lights, microphone and green screen. Wednesday 27th February 2013 Book week is taking place in school next week 4th – 8th March 2013. The children will spend the week exploring a specific story and carrying out exciting activities to give them a deeper understanding of the book as well as a fun filled and enriched experience throughout the week. The texts the children will be studying are: Year 3
